Printmaking
The relief print images were carved on one or more wood or synthetic blocks. Oil or water-based printer’s ink was applied to the blocks with a brayer and the images individually hand printed onto acid free and art papers. In some pieces, a dry brush technique was used while the ink was still wet. Some color embellishments were later included with colored pencil or watercolor paint. “Little Fritz” includes an image of his paw embossed into the piece before printing.
